She attended both public and private schools and graduated with a degree in business. Following the takeover by the Nazi Regime her family endured ruthless persecution because of their opposition to the regime. Among the murders committed by the Nazi’s was her mentally ill cousin and the village priest. At wars end Hilda met and married her husband James whom she met while he served as an officer serving in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Upon arriving in the United States she and her husband lived in Stockton where their children Nora, Henry, and Louis were born. In 1959 the family moved to Lodi where they planted an apple orchard on the west side of town. This property became the Apple Orchard Subdivision in 1987. Hilda had a great reverence for life of all forms. She loved her beautiful Andalusian horses. Countless dogs and cats found shelter at her home. Hilda loved and appreciated her adopted country. She credited her longevity to the competent medical care provided by Dr. Tomio Odama and the devoted care by her
son Louis, who was her caregiver. She is survived by her children; Henry, Nora and Louis, grandchildren; James, Angela, and Andrew as well as great-grandson; Emmet. According to her wishes there will be no services. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital,
